Stazione Centrale is the main rail station in Milan and it's a 20/25 minutes walk and 10/15 minutes by bus or tram to reach my apartment from there

from STAZIONE CENTRALE you can easily catch one of the two (see below the pin to the exact bus stop):
-🚍bus n° 60 (direction: Lgo Augusto) - faster option if available
-🚋tram n° 5 (direction: Ortica) - nicer option

exiting from the station, you need to leave the station behind you, walk on the big square (beware of your pocket) and cross the street to get to the bus stop

I recommend to tourist to pay for the bus/tram/subway 90 minutes ticket straight with your credit card to be near to the electronic reader on every vehicle/station! Very handy for tourists
